Do I need to install anything on the PC or the Mac?
No. Both sides run entirely in the browser: Safari or Chrome on the Mac, any browser on Windows. There is nothing to install or configure.
Will my Mac files open on Windows?
The common formats all do: photos, videos, music, PDFs and Office documents work identically. Export Pages, Numbers or Keynote files to their Office equivalents before sending.
Can I send whole folders?
Yes. Use the folder option in the file picker on the Mac, and the folder arrives on the PC as a single zip with its structure intact.
Is there a size limit for the transfer?
No. Files stream directly between the two machines without server storage, so hundred-gigabyte moves are possible. They just take as long as your connections need.
Do both computers need to be on the same network?
No. Unlike SMB shares or drive swaps, this works over the internet. Old Mac at the office, new PC at home works fine.
Is it safe for personal files?
Yes. The transfer is end-to-end encrypted, streams directly between the two browsers, and nothing is stored anywhere. Close the tabs and the code is gone.
